How to Make a Balloon Arch
Some materials you will need to create a balloon arch are:
- Balloons (DUH!)
- Balloon Pump
- Fishing Line
- Blunt Needle
- Glue Gun
- Flowers and Foliage
- Hooks
- Scissors
- Clear Shipping Tape
- The first step is to sketch your designs. Having an idea of your design will, later on, help you in assembling the design later.
- The Second Step is to blow up the balloon. Try to blow up different shapes and sizes of balloons, so there are various balloons that you can work with and design your arch with different colors to attract audiences.
- Make sure to blow up small balloons as they will later on; fill the arch once you put it up.
- The Third Step is to use a fishing line on the end of your sewing needle.
- Try to knot a traditional knot, and we recommend knotting your fishing line a couple of times, as they may get loosen with time.
- The fourth step is to run your threaded needle through the knot of a latex inflated balloon. Keep your fingers on one side of the knot, or you may accidentally hard poke your finger, and blood may come out.
- Once you have threaded each side of the balloon, the fifth step is to slide down the balloon one at a time.
- The sixth step is to cut the end of the fishing line, be sure that your balloons stay put. Make a second look that your balloon arch will be the right size before cutting it.
- Now it’s about time you put your arch up, layout the arch’s frame, and adhere it using nails to the wall and hang it. Be sure to hang your nails just the way you want your arch to look.
- Using your glue gun, create a fuller arch and fill up the leftover spaces with smaller balloons. Make sure to put the glue gun at low temps or else your balloons might pop!
- Finish it off with some fresh flowers and optional foliage.
